The english toytheatre is perhaps the most robust of all traditions at present.MDE productions have lifted it from oblivion
and decay and publish new titles every month. These volumes are available through Pollocks museum and shop, Scala Street,
London.
English toytheatre design is rather provincial in comparison with other countries. The exception being Orlando Hogdson
BUT it has a charming and original quality second to none. Landscapes and interiors are typical of the country. Characters
usually bear the fashion of the 1800's. The best examples are the sailors stories. Black eyes Susan being one example.

The proscenia are usually permitting some recess and vividly coloured
The Victorians have a stock of tricks within their cardboard characters. This aspect needs to be revived. Some motion
can be imparted unto the figure, disappearances and change of characters also.
