The tradition is upheld there in Copenhagen, with the Prior's Dukke theatre firm.

Very fine colour printing  and special effects are to be encountered.

The special effects or tricks in toytheatre signify that a portion of the scenery will move before your eyes, not the scenery being taken away but some motion will occur, a door will open, a panel will slide etc

Any toytheatre production contains at least one or two tricks, even more.

The danish slides are renowned for their ingeniosity. They allow the turning back and forth of the characters provided the character has been painted recto/verso. To your paintbrushes !
